How long does the tour take?
The experience tour takes about 90 minutes. Together with an experienced guide you explore Bamberg’s old town. Modern tablets show historical photographs and exciting details, so you can experience up close how the city has changed since the early 20th century — an interactive experience that brings history to life.
When do the tours take place?
Our regular public tours start every Wednesday and Friday at 3:00 PM — meeting point is the Tourist Information (TKS) at Geyerswörthstraße 5. Prefer to explore the old town with your own group? No problem — we are happy to arrange individual dates to fit your schedule.
Does the tour take place in all weather?
Yes, the tour takes place in all weather. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing and an umbrella in case of rain.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Absolutely! From about age 8, children can discover how Bamberg has changed over time — a real adventure between "then" and "now". With our tablets they compare historical photos with the present and experience history in a playful and exciting way.
Do I need to book tickets in advance?
We strongly recommend reserving your tickets early, as the number of participants is limited. You can book by phone, by email at info@tour-bamberg.com, or via TKS Bamberg. For tours on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:00 PM, registration closes at 1:00 PM.
Which stops are included?
On our tour through Bamberg’s old town you will discover its most beautiful corners — from Cathedral Square via the Old Court (Alte Hofhaltung) to Little Venice and many other historic places. At each stop, modern tablets accompany you and show original photographs from the early 20th century.
